Congratulations, Ninja Families!

Your Ninja just completed an exciting week of coding and creativity in Coder Carnival!Throughout the week, they explored coding fundamentals by designing arcade-style games, customizing gameplay, and even building real-world game controllers using micro:bit and Makey Makey. From block coding to JavaScript, and from game design to hardware hacks, your Ninja had a blast while gaining valuable STEM and tech skills!

🛠️ What We Covered This Week

Throughout the camp, Ninjas explored block-based coding, hardware integration, and interactive game design using Microsoft MakeCode Arcade. Here’s a recap of the activities and concepts covered:

Intro to Coding & micro:bit Reaction Game

Campers were introduced to block coding and built a reaction-time game using micro:bit, exploring how sensors and circuits work.

MakeCode Arcade Game & DIY Fishing Controller

Ninjas created their first arcade game and built a custom fishing pole controller using Makey Makey and conductive materials.

Music Game Design & Guitar Controller Build

Campers coded a music-based arcade game and crafted a guitar controller to play it—learning about sprites, loops, and sound logic.

Whack-a-Mole Game with Hammer Build

Ninjas developed a Whack-a-Mole game using arrays and animations, then engineered a real-world hammer controller to play it.

Game Customization & Carnival Showcase

Campers switched to JavaScript, customized their favorite games, and shared their creations during a carnival-style celebration with peers!
