Your Ninja just completed an exciting week of robotics and coding in JR Builders: LEGO® Robotics! Throughout the week, they explored the foundations of engineering and programming by building, customizing, and coding LEGO robots using motors, sensors, and block-based logic. Through creativity, teamwork, and problem-solving, your Ninja gained valuable STEM skills while having tons of fun!
Throughout the camp, Ninjas explored robotics, hands-on engineering, and beginner-friendly programming using LEGO® SPIKE Essential kits. Here’s a recap of the activities and concepts covered:
Campers discovered what makes a robot work by exploring inputs and outputs, then learned to code motors to move in different directions and speeds.
Ninjas explored pattern logic, created light shows, and coded color sensors to respond with different sounds and movements—featuring the Classic Carousel and Color Spin projects!
Campers learned how events like sound and tilt can trigger actions, and built exciting motion-based projects like the Arctic Ride and High-Tech Playground.
Ninjas tackled fun, real-world coding tasks with builds like “Avoid the Edge” and the Trash Monster Machine, learning to sort objects based on color using sensors and motors.
Using everything they learned throughout the week, campers designed, built, and coded their very own LEGO robot—then showcased their work during a Gallery Walk and celebrated their accomplishments with teammates!
