JR Adventurers: Roblox and Minecraft®

Congratulations, Ninja Families!

Thank you for joining us for an amazing week at JR Adventures: Roblox and Minecraft camp! Your ninjas explored digital creativity, built virtual worlds, and learned how we communicate with computers through interactive design. From parkour parks to pixel art and custom dojo builds, our ninjas brought their imaginations to life while having fun, making friends, and growing their confidence with technology.

🛠️ What We Covered This Week

Throughout the camp, Ninjas explored digital creativity, virtual world design, and basic coding logic using Minecraft Education Edition and Roblox Studio. Here’s a recap of the activities and concepts covered:

Intro to Coding & Virtual Navigation

Campers learned how humans communicate with computers using basic coding terms like sequence and events. They practiced using on-screen tools to guide a Bee-Bot through a maze and created Minecraft or Roblox-inspired characters using craft materials.

Game Movement & Exploration

Ninjas explored how players interact with virtual environments and practiced moving characters in Minecraft Education's BBC Planet Earth III world. They also completed fun MakeCode projects like Chicken Rain and Bouncing Pig, using coding blocks to trigger unexpected in-game events.

Pixel Art & Game Building Basics

Campers tapped into their creativity by designing emoji pixel art and self-portraits in Minecraft. Then, they jumped into Roblox Studio to build custom houses using different digital parts and design tools.

Castles & Parkour Parks

Ninjas brought castles to life with craft materials and built moats in Minecraft. They explored Super Powers and Zombie Pig projects using MakeCode to experiment with special effects and entity behavior. In Roblox Studio, they designed and tested their own Parkour Park using premade assets and parts.

Final Project & Showcase

To wrap up the week, campers designed their very own Code Ninjas Dojo using their choice of Minecraft or Roblox. They showcased their work during the Parent Showcase, reflecting on everything they learned and created.
